Our very own CMS Band Director Jay Wilkerson has been named Tennessee’s 2025 Emerging Young Band Director by the Tennessee Music Educators Association! In his four years at Collierville Middle School, Mr. Wilkerson has made a profound impact on the band program and continues to share his passion for music with his students every day. His favorite part about teaching is being able to see and nurture his student’s passion for music from their very first note to all the way throughout high school, where he assists with the Pride of Collierville during their marching band season. He will be presented with the award at this year's Tennessee Music Educators Association Conference in Nashville on April 11th.
