My name is Angela Jackson and I am very excited about teaching in the Collierville Municipal School System! This is the best school system in the world and I am so proud to be a part of it! This is my 27th year of teaching middle school and I am so glad to continue to be a Dragon! I will be teaching your child Science this year and have no doubt that we are going to have a very successful and productive year. Course Description: During the school year students will be investigating the areas of physical science, life science and earth science. We will also engage in the engineering and design process, energy transfer, energy conservation, circulation in earth's air and oceans, weather and climate, interactions of living things, earth's biomes and ecosystems, earth's resources and the human impact on our environment. During the course of this school year students will:

ask questions and define problems
analyze and interpret data
plan and carry out investigations
construct explanations and design solutions
develop and use models
obtain, evaluate and communicate information
engage in argument from evidence

Due to social distancing guidelines students will not be participating in traditional science labs nor will students be working in a group setting. Students will instead engage in virtual labs and teacher demonstrations to hone skills, master concepts and work as a whole class group.

Weekly plans will be posted to Schoology under "updates" by Sunday afternoon. I will also communicate this same weekly calendar to this web page under the "posts" column. Please note that these plans are subject to change, and I will do my best to notify you and keep you abreast of any changes. Please always feel free to email me if you have any questions or concerns. Each Friday I will also host a 20 minute Microsoft Teams meeting with each class where they can ask questions about assignments and get the help that they need.
