How to Check Out a Library Book 2020-2021 School Year

hello everyone this is mrs. daily the librarian here at the Collierville middle school and I'm so excited that we are going to be able to check out print books as well as to continue checking out our ebooks this year due to covid-19 able to come to the library and browse the shells to collect your book however we do have the follettdestiny app which is our library program and you're going to use it to locate play some book on hold we will check the book out to you and deliver it to your homeroom teacher we will send you an e-mail when that book has been delivered to let you know to look for it in your homeroom teachers rent if you have any questions you may email me at G relief at Collierville schools. Org and right now I'm going to take you to the steps through the steps to get to putting a book on Holt you're going to go into class link and you're going to find a Follett Destiny app which has a blue background and has an orange light bulb and you're going to click on that it does the moment for it to load and it will take you into Follett Destiny your screen may look a little bit different from mine and what you're going to do is look for a book you would like to check out let's say you are looking for something maybe a new book to us and you're an Avid Reader so at the top you can see recently added books and all of the books that have been recently added this will continue to update you can also click the seat all for all of the books that we have recently added this Powers has my assistant has been cataloging several new books and putting them out for you and you can look to see what you might like let's say you want revenge of the magic and it's you can see that by the green triangle that says and you can click on the book and it pulls up information about the book and you can decide if that's a book you would like if you would like to book you simply press we will receive the information that you want to check out that book we will find the book for you check it out and deliver it to your homeroom teacher and we'll send an email to let you know however if you decide you'd not want the book you just click on Hope I'm going to close out of that screen the other thing that's important this is an actual print book and the way you tell that it has a red book icon that tells you it's an actual print book let's say you're interested in an ebook possibly so I'm going to search a different way just going to back out of that and I am going to search for Harry Potter I would like an ebook because I'm reading this series and I'd rather carry it around on my iPad then carry a different book the way you find an ebook now I know this is checked out with the red triangle that's how you see something is checked out if you will notice the green background with a y t in the middle that has tells you it's an ebook and we're going to see if we have any ebooks for Harry Potter there's another one but it's checked out as well I'm not finding a Harry Potter ebook what try text go to soneva but it's also checked out I'd say we want Kate ghost story ebook all of these are regular books here's one for sorrow and a ghost story what you can do is open it up to see if you like the book and you actually get to open it up on your iPad and take a look inside the book you can click it takes you to the page ages and you can start reading to see if this is a book you want let's say you do want this book you're going to go ahead and close the book and where it says check out you just clicked check out all of our books are checked out for 15 days this year whether they're an ebook or a print copy of a book on your ebook you do have to go in renew them if you want to keep them past the 15 days when you're finished with an ebook you all you do is go in and click return and that returns it for someone else to use our print books going to be returned in Bend on your hallway we have black beans that are labeled for library books that will be on a card on your hallway you're going to place your library book you're returning in a ziplock bag and seal it and place it ban on your hallway once we collect the books we do have to quarantine them for at least 72 hours due to Cove it and then they will be put back out for circulation for you so just be aware we will be quarantine in between check out to help keep everyone say you have any questions just email me again at GECU Lee at Collierville schools.
