This week in Physical Education students will dress-out, warm up properly, and participate in running laps or lengths for cardio endurance.   Weather permitting, we will play badminton for the next two weeks and then test skills and knowledge.  Gym circuits and movement games with inclement weather. Some classes will also need to finish Quarter 3 FitnessGram testing (pull-ups and sit-ups).  Let's start quarter 4 off by dressing out each and everyday for Physical Education!

Students will play 4 way volleyball and SpikeBall as time permits.  Socially, student groups will positively peer assess and encouragement.
Students who forgot clothes may come to makeup day on Tuesday 3/6 7:15 am to 7:45 am for make up credit. Weather permitting, students will run 3 laps on the black top outside, or in the gym.

This week in Physical Education students will dress-out, warm up properly, and participate in running laps or lengths for cardio endurance.  Students will TAKE THE VOLLEYBALL TEST. Students will continue with volleyball games.  Socially, student groups will positively peer assess and encourage proper techniques and completing  the sequence of bump, set, spike.

Students will get their new study guide for Volleyball which will be reviewed Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Friday we will start basic volleyball skills and review. Socially, student groups will positively peer assess and encourage proper technique in bump, set, spike (for some) and serving. Monday and Tuesday I will be at the TAHPERD conference in Nashville but my substitute will work with Coach Marchy utilizing the gym (due to rain) to participate in activities in the active zone. (we will not wear PGF watches Monday or Tuesday). Weather permitting, students will continue, skills, and proper etiquette, specifically gripping the club, proper stance, and proper swing. We will periodically check our PGF watches to monitor our heart rates staying in the Active (60-70%) and Healthy Heart (70-80%) zones.  As the weather gets cooler, students need to have a sweatshirt on hand - especially morning classes. 
** Students in my class -If you ran in Race for the Ville OR at the track meet on Saturday 10/21, this Friday ONLY (10/27) - you may wear your race shirt during PE class!

Welcome back from Fall Break!
This week in P.E. we will warm-up properly, increase our running to the large grassy lap, and move from passing and catching to running routes, and adding defenders.  We will monitor our physical activity using our PGF watches keeping our heart rates in the active zone for at least 30 minutes each class. A few classes will need to makeup the Fitnessgram pull-ups at the beginning of the week. As the weather gets a little cooler, morning classes may want to bring a sweatshirt to wear.
 
DON'T FORGET - Collierville Schools Race for the VIlle -  Glow Run is next Saturday evening, 10/2, Johnson Park!
Be sure to sign up for C.M.S. as a family fun activity! I hope to see you all there walking, jogging, running and having a great time!

Week Oct 2 - 6
This week in P.E. students will begin flag football. Students will dress-out, get their assigned PGF watch to monitor heart rate throughout their workout, warm-up properly, and run the big outside lap for cardio-endurance. Students will receive their football study guide on Monday and Tuesday. We will start with passing and receiving drills this week.

Week September 25-29
This week in P.E., students will continue to use their PGF watches to learn how to stay in the Target Zone - Listening to their Bodies! Students did a Super-Great job learning to get them from the cart, wear them, set them to workout, and putting them back in the cart to charge! GREAT JOB! We will warm-up daily, run indoors or out approximately 3 laps each day. We will incorporate the "Clash of the Dragons" kickball rules in practice and run the pacer.

Week  Sept. 18 - 22
This week in PE students will warmup properly and then jog/run 2-3 laps to build cardio endurance. Students will be introduced to our new Polar Go Fit heart-rate watches. Students will calculate individual Target Heart Rate Zone. Students will be shooting at the Archery Range.

Week  Sept. 11 - 15
This week in PE students will warmup properly and then jog/run 2-3 laps to build cardio endurance. Students will be shooting at the Archery Range Monday and Thursday. Tuesday and Wednesday students will practice Kickball using the "Clash of the Dragons" Rules to prepare for our upcoming PTA Fundraiser Tournament!  Friday students will enjoy the day off while teachers are participating in District Learning Day!

This week in PE students will jog/run 2 laps to build cardio endurance. Students will distinguish dominant eye for archery. Students will learn the history, safety rules, and range commands for archery. Students will quiz over the 11 essential steps of archery and safety.
