Assignment for January 22 through February 9

Students will continue to explore building clay coil pots. They will complete at least one coil pot and one seprate piece for the art auction.
 
Objective:
  •  I can use clay to create a functional clay pot using the coil building technique.

 STILL LIFE CONTOUR LINE DRAWING

 

I can draw contour lines by use of a still life of shoes.  

 

The student will learn line quality and it’s effects on form and light by drawing a still life using objects.

 

 

 A STILL LIFE is defined as a collection of inanimate objects arranged together in a specific way.

 Students will submit the completed web-based Leonardo da Vinci test by 9/15/2017.  This will be worked on as homework. If you complete it sooner you may turn it in earlier.

 Q1  Students will be learning about the art elements of LINE, VALUE, Still Life and Mediums.


Some of the projects they will be completing are contour line drawings of hands, shoes, and still-life arrangements. The goal is to have artists become careful observers of subjects and draw with a harmony among the eyes, brain, and hand to record details and objects with increased accuracy. 

Students will learn to record a range of light and dark values on various objects. In addition, they will learn to use different medium. The goal is to add interest and detail to their art by creating a more realistic, 3-D effect by capturing light and shadow with accuracy. 
 
August 7 - 25.  
Student will learn the rules and procedures of the Art Classroom.  There is an art form with this information that students will review with their parents and both will sign.  There is a requested Art Fee of $25 to be submitted by August 25 so supplies for class can be purchased at a bulk, discount rate. 
 
Project #1 Be a Hero/SuperHero - Students will draw and develop a Hero / SuperHero using the human scale of eight heads.  Students will think about the appearance, qualities and special abilities of their favorite superhero then draw the logo and and superpowers to assist their being.
